If there is one thing that I would hope to communicate to you today it would be that as parents of children we are more alike then we are different. Whether we have a child with a disability or delay or our child is typically developing, we share many same concerns, when will my child sleep through the night, what about potty training, am I doing the best I can for my child, how will my child do in school. Of course we have our own special, unique concerns as well.

   Friends of Special Children is an organization that welcomes all parents. We recognize that parents need support and that we can learn a lot from each other. I invite you to check out our different programs and events and the different ways that you can be involved.

   If it is not within our own family, all of us know a person with a disability or delay. Friends is an organization where you can learn more about these disabilities and delays and the support systems that are available. Friends also welcomes people who are interested in shaping the support systems provided to our families.
